Versatility in performance comes to Hope Adams of AA Ranch in Anza, CA from over 35 years in the equestrian industry.  Hope and her husband Bill have a diverse and extensive background training, showing and selling horses.  Multiple Championships and Reserve Championships have been earned by Hope and her students since the 1970's through current years.  At AA Ranch, their lifetime of work has culminated in their specialization of training gaited horses for trail riding, set in the beautiful backdrop of their ranch.

The training program at AA Ranch consists of multiple aspects, focused on the particular needs and riding issues with gaited horses.  Many times this starts with an analysis of the horse's gaits, temperament and rider goals, in order to determine the course of the training.  Because she has "seen it all," Hope can really identify the main areas of weakness in a horse's training, and she will then work on re-establishing the foundation.  Once that is complete, the training program can move forward into whatever is best suited for both the horse and rider, be it obstacle course work, competitive or recreational trail riding, showing or fitting the horse up for sale.

At AA Ranch, a variety of services are offered, depending on the goals for the horse and for the owner.  Hope has an excellent reputation for starting gaited horses, for building confidence during trail rides, and for thorough obstacle training.  Full time training is comprised of both ground work and under saddle riding, because Hope believes every horse must have acceptable ground manners for the safety of all.  The weather in Anza is close to perfect, with few days lost due to weather.  Training for trail is ideal at the ranch, because of its natural habitat and they ride right off the property onto miles of scenic trails.  Trail riders will encounter different terrain, both country dirt roads and paved city streets, wildlife and domestic animals.  The horses are trained to handle whatever may come up on the trail, and the location of the ranch provides the ideal environment for training to these exposures. 

Hope & Bill have also constructed some very creative obstacles right on the ranch, so that a horse's navigating skills are taught at home first.  Then, when something is encountered out on the trail, the horse is better prepared to either not react or to respond to the rider's cues during the ride.

From her love of trail riding and gaited horses, Hope also is known as the best source for finding fully trained gaited horses for sale.  She selects, trains and sells only a few gaited horses each year.  This allows her to concentrate on making these prospects solid over obstacles, reliable out on the trails and suitable for all levels of riders.  Both patience and proven techniques are used by Hope to teach the horses, which results in a well mannered and reliable riding mount.  Hope prides herself on building the foundation, confidence and skills of each horse she intends to sell, and she has many success stories of matching horse and rider teams.

Hope has a successful background in showing which spans several decades, includes many different horses and students and resulted in earning multiple Championship and Reserve Championship honors.  She competes at CFTA, in multiple events like Versatility/Trail, Performance and Model.  Recent successes include Hope coaching the 2010 & 2009 High Point Youth, the 2010 Reserve Champion for Versatility with the late Shannon Hayes and her mare, "Sunrise's Southern Charm." and in 2008 Hope trained a client's horse to the Versatility Champion and Reserve Champion for Performance. Hope is accepting new clients for the 2011 show season, for horses in training, youth and amateur owners.
